Girl pushed off running train for opposing mobile phone snatching, hurt
ARA, May 6 -- A girl was allegedly pushed from a running train when she opposed a loot bid of her mobile phone on Sunday evening, police said, adding that the incident took place near western railway over bridge of Ara railway station.
This is the second such type of incident in Bihar within two weeks.
The victim, identified as 20-year-old Tanu Kumari of Fatehpur under Sikarhatta police station, is under treatment after receiving injuries on her head, chest and back.
Shashi Ranjan Kumar, brother of the victim said his sister was going to Ara for taking medicine from a homeopathic doctor for some skin problem on her face. She had boarded Sasaram-Patna passenger train at Piro.
When the train was about to reach Ara railway station and had approached western railway crossing, some unknown robbers tried to snatch her mobile. When she opposed it, she was pushed from the running train. She fell down on railway track. The robbers fled with her mobile.
He said his sister was lying for 20 minutes on the track. Locals called 112 and then she was rushed to Ara sadar hospital.
SHO of Ara GRP police station Rani Kumari Jagrani said on statement of the victim, an FIR had been lodged against unknown persons. The girl was under treatment but out of danger. Rail SP Amritendu Shekhar Thakur, ASP rail Prashant Kumar and other senior police officials came and enquired about the incident from the victim.
Earlier on April 22, a 21-year-old student was allegedly thrown out of Kamakhya-Gaya Express train by unidentified robbers after robbing off her belongings.
The incident had occurred between Bhagalpur-Jamalpur rail section of Malda rail division under Eastern railway. The student identified as Kajal Kumari, a resident of Khagaria district was preparing for banking competitive exam and had succumbed to her injuries....
