Jaipur, Nov. 21 -- Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led state government over alleged delay in delivery of basic services, accusing it of pushing the state into what he termed a new era of "Intzaar Shastra" - the "science of waiting." Referring to news reports, Gehlot said people are being forced to wait for basic services, development work and justice. Gehlot said on X that farmers are waiting for essential fertilisers like urea and DAP, while patients are waiting for medical treatment in hospitals. He said the public is waiting for the completion of the long-pending IPD Tower project, and schoolgirls are waiting to get promised bicycles under government schemes. He further said households are waiting for electricity supply to stabilise after frequent power cuts, and commuters are waiting for pothole-ridden roads to be repaired. BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj said it was unfortunate that despite having served as CM for 15 years, Gehlot posted a tweet prepared by his PR team without cross-checking the facts.
