GAYA JI, Aug. 7 -- Four policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), were injured - one of them critically - after being attacked by suspected liquor mafia members at Barki Kuhari village under Fatehpur police station area in Gaya district on Tuesday night, officials said. The incident occurred after police had seized 450 litres of country-made liquor from an auto-rickshaw earlier in the day. During interrogation, the driver, Sanny Kumar, had revealed that the liquor belonged to Ajay Kumar Yadav, a resident of Barki Kuhari village. Earlier, acting on specific intelligence, a police team raided Yadav's residence late at night, but his family members, including women, along with their supporters, began pelting stones at the police. ASI Manoj Kumar sustained a serious head injury, while three other policemen were also hurt in the attack.
