GA constituents stress dist-level co-ordination among workers
PATNA, May 5 -- Opposition Grand Alliance (GA) or Mahagathbandhan on Sunday held its third meeting in Patna to discuss the poll strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls with focus on achieving better coordination among workers of all constituents at the district and block level, as per insiders in the GA.
Addressing newsmen, leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav only said the meeting held discussions on the various issues while announcing that the GA would give support to the all India strike called by trade union against four proposed labour codes. Later, RJD MP and national spokesperson Manoj Jha said the meeting was very fruitful even as he did not comment on who would be the chief ministerial face of the GA in the upcoming polls.
"It is all clear. People know it. After all, who is the chairman of the coordination committee of the coalition?" Jha asked, inferring that Tejashwi was already the face of the coalition.
Incidentally, Congress MLA Madan Mohan Jha said the alliance had held two meetings before but there was 'no coordination' among the parties at the district or block level, and a detailed discussion was needed to fix the problem. "We have had two main meetings, but there's been no coordination among the six parties at the district or block level. A detailed discussion is needed on how we will work together at the grassroots level," the Congress MLA told in Patna.
However, RJD MP Jha , in the presser, said there was already good coordination among allies in the coalition and the GA was aggressively raising public issues. "The government is now under pressure as the GA is raising public issues. There is good coordination among partners," he said. Jha also said the data of the nationwide caste census had to be made public and the Opposition would ensure that the caste enumeration was done in a proper manner. "We want the reservation limit to be increased and we want the data to be publicised," he said.
State secretary, CPI-ML(liberation) Kunal said the meeting was held to mobilise the district level workers of all six constituents and focus was on to ensure that workers and district level leaders of the coalition worked in tandem during campaign and election day. "There will be again a meeting of district level leaders of all six constituents on May 18," he said.
Grand alliance member and Vikassheel Insaan Party Chief Mukesh Sahani also highlighted that currently "corruption is being practised at every level" of Bihar government, as the state was being run by bureaucrats and not CM Nitish Kumar.
"Our agenda is clear - to make the government of the Grand Alliance. The present government is being run by bureaucrats, not under the leadership of Nitish Kumar... Corruption is being practised at every level," the VIP chief told reporters ahead of the meeting....
