BIKANER, Dec. 15 -- Airport security at Nal Civil Airport in Bikaner detained two foreign nationals after a suspicious item believed to contain wildlife parts, including deer antlers and bones, was recovered from their possession, police officials said. The incident occurred on Saturday when the couple was about to board a flight from the Nal Civil Airport to Delhi. During a routine security check, airport staff detected the item in the couple's luggage and immediately alerted forest department officials, who reached the airport and took custody of the materials, officials said. Bikaner divisional forest officer (DFO) Venkateshwar said the seized article had been sent to the veterinary laboratory at the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS) for preliminary examination. "Initial tests indicate the possible presence of animal parts. To confirm this, samples are being sent to a specialised laboratory in Dehradun. Further legal action will be taken based on the final report's findings," he said. During questioning, the couple reportedly told officials they had purchased the item at an exhibition during a festival in Nagaland. They said they had earlier visited Kohima, Delhi, and Jodhpur before arriving in Bikaner. Both are currently being held for further investigation. The French Embassy has been informed about the incident. Authorities aware of the matter said the couple will remain at a government facility until the forensic report is received, following which further questioning will take place....
