AURANGABAD, Aug. 3 -- Four members of a snatcher gang, including two minors, escaped from the custody of Deokund police station in Bihar's Aurangabad district on Friday night. The gang was allegedly involved in snatching ornaments and mobile phones from crowded places such as temples and markets, police said. All the accused, residents of Deokund market, had recently been arrested, and police recovered four stolen mobile phones and a gold locket from their possession. Since two of the accused were minors, they were not kept in the police lock-up but were instead placed in the writer's room at the station for interrogation, said Daudnagar sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Ashok Kumar Das.
