Four injured as two SUVs ran over them in Purnia district
PURNIA, June 6 -- At least four people were injured when two speeding SUVs ran over them at the crowded Ford Company Chowk in Bihar's Purnia district on Tuesday, police said.
The incident came to light on Thursday when media personnel spotted the injured at the Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Purnia. The injured recounted the harrowing experience they endured while enjoying ice cream with their families at Ford Company Chowk, located in the heart of the town.
"We were about to be killed, but luckily we are alive," said Mohammad Shaheed, adding, "Two speeding SUVs were racing when one hit the divider after striking several people."
Recounting the incident, he said all the occupants of the crashed vehicle quickly got out and fled in the second SUV. "All of it happened in no time," he said. "We were later rushed to the hospital."
Meanwhile, police have launched a thorough probe into the incident....
