five killed in lightning strikes across four districts
PATNA, Oct. 5 -- Chief minister Nitish Kumar expressed his deepest condolences on the deaths of five people due to lightning strikes across four districts of Bihar.
Two deaths were reported from West Champaran, and one each from Bhojpur, Jehanabad, and Kishanganj.
The CM directed that an ex-gratia grant of Rs.4 lakh each be immediately provided to the dependents of the deceased. He stated that he stands with the affected families during this hour of disaster.
The CM also appealed to the public to exercise utmost caution during bad weather and follow the advice issued by the Disaster Management Department to protect themselves from lightning. He urged people to stay indoors and remain safe during adverse weather conditions....
