Five kanwariyas injured in road accident in East Champaran distt
BETTIAH, July 20 -- At least five kanwariyas were injured after the pickup van they were travelling in overturned near Kotwa in Bihar's East Champaran district on Friday evening, police said.
The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve, causing it to overturn, police further said.
The road was reportedly slippery due to light rain that evening.
"All the injured were admitted to a local hospital in Kotwa," said Pratyush Kumar Vicky, Station House Officer (SHO) of Kotwa police station.
According to police, the group of kanwariyas had set out from Gopalganj for Deoghar in Jharkhand to offer holy water on the deity as part of the ongoing Shravani festival.
