Five hospitalised after stabbing incident in Gopalganj: Cops
PATNA, Nov. 9 -- Five people were hospitalised with stab injuries in Bihar's Gopalganj district after two groups of men allegedly clashed over abusive comments on social media, police said on Saturday.
Two separate FIRs under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act were registered at Uchkagaon police station, and three persons have been detained for interrogation.
Police said the incident erupted following an old controversial post and the use of abusive language on Instagram. What began as an exchange of heated words soon escalated into a violent confrontation, during which the accused allegedly attacked five people with knives, leaving them seriously injured.
The victims - identified as Tuntun Chaurasia (30), Suraj Chaurasia (16), Ankit Chaurasia (13), Sintu Chaurasia (18) and Jitendra Chaurasia (28) - were initially taken to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital for treatment. Owing to the severity of their injuries, doctors later referred them to Gorakhpur for advanced medical care.
Hathua Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Anand Mohan Gupta confirmed the incident, saying that upon receiving information, he personally visited the spot and found the victims lying in a pool of blood. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital....
