Firing in cricket match, 3 injured; MLA's role under scanner
PATNA, May 23 -- Unidentified assailants opened fire at a night cricket tournament in Mahto Tola village under rural Patna late Wednesday, leaving three people grievously injured, including sand trader Anjani Singh - husband of Saidabad panchayat mukhiya Mamta Devi. The incident occurred just 500 metres from Ranitalab police station.
Singh, who sustained four bullet injuries, is currently in the ICU of a private hospital, while the other two injured - identified as Dharmendra and Raja Kumar - are also undergoing treatment. The attack is suspected to be linked to a long-standing rivalry between two groups over sand mining dominance in the region.
In a video that went viral on social media, Anjani Singh, before being taken for treatment, alleged that BJP MLA from Bikram, Siddharth Sourabh Singh, along with his associates Ganauri Yadav and Rajesh Yadav, were behind the attack. "If I die during treatment, these persons will be responsible," he stated.
Following the incident, Director General of Police (DGP) Binay Kumar and Additional Director General (Headquarters) Kundan Krishnan directed City SP (West) Sarath RS to visit the scene and conduct a thorough investigation....
