Fire breaks out at PMCH, no one injured: Official
PATNA, Sept. 29 -- A fire broke out in the storeroom of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on Sunday noon. However, no one was injured in the fire, said people familiar with the matter on Sunday.
Eyewitnesses said the fire started from a storeroom on the ground floor of the hospital's utility building. "Thick smoke spread across the campus which caused panic among patients and their attendants. Dialysis-related supplies, dispensary materials, universal kits, four fans, and other items were destroyed in the incident. However, the fire was brought under control within minutes.
On being informed, Lodipur fire sub-divisional officer Ajit Kumar and his team reached the spot with six fire vehicles and worked swiftly to control the flames. People in nearby areas were evacuated as a safety precaution while the fire was being extinguished. District fire officer Manoj Nath said, "It seemed that the fire caught due to a short circuit."...
