MADHUBANI, March 23 -- Bihar government suspended electrical executive engineer Manoj Kumar Rajak in connection with a disproportionate assets case following a raid conducted by the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Patna recently, officials said. According to official sources, a team of the EOU carried out searches earlier this week at Rajak's office in the Jayanagar Electricity Sub-Division (Madhubani) under the North Power Distribution Company Limited, as well as at his rented residence in Darbhanga. The action was part of an ongoing probe into allegations of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Following the raid on Tuesday, the electricity department placed Rajak under suspension and directed him to report to the Muzaffarpur headquarters. Meanwhile, Rahul Kumar, electrical executive engineer of MRT Darbhanga has been appointed as the new executive engineer of electric supply division at Jayanagar and has assumed charge in compliance with departmental orders.
