Ex- woman Naxal held in West Champaran
BETTIAH, May 16 -- Laukariya police, in coordination with the Special Task Force (STF), arrested a former woman Maoist who had been wanted in connection with Naxalite-related incidents in West Champaran district, police said on Thursday.
Bagaha Superintendent of Police (SP) Sushant Kumar Saroj said the woman, identified as Meenkshi Devi, was a fugitive in two cases registered at the Govardhana and Laukariya police stations in Bagaha police district. She was arrested from Sundarpur village under Laukariya police station limits on Wednesday.
"She had been absconding for the past 18 years. Following her arrest, she was produced before the court," the SP said.
A resident of Ward No. 12 of Sundarpur village, Meenkshi Devi is accused of being closely associated with an underground Maoist organisation active in the Ramnagar area of West Champaran.
The arrest is being seen as a major catch for the administration....
