Ranchi, March 23 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has sought a report from the state assembly regarding the alleged faulty voters' list issued by the assembly in view of the upcoming Rajya Sabha election.

The biennial election for two Rajya Sabha seats from Jharkhand is scheduled on March 26. While the JMM has fielded party's supremo Shibu Soren, the BJP has raised its state president Deepak Prakash to contest the poll. Congress candidate Shahzada Anwar too has thrown his hats into the ring making the election interesting for the second seat.

The ECI has sought replies from state chief election officer (CEO) and state assembly secretary over the alleged faulty list issued by the assembly.
