E Champaran: 1 held for selling adulterated fuel
BETTIAH, Jan. 26 -- Bihar's Kalyanpur police arrested a man and seized 2,200 litres of alleged adulterated fuel being sold in villages across the district after mixing it with chemicals to increase its volume in East Champaran district, police said on Sunday.
Kalyanpur station house officer (SHO) Vineet Kumar said the arrest followed a complaint, after which a police team conducted raids at Bishambharpur village under Kalyanpur police station on Saturday evening.
"As the part of his modus operandi, they would fetch petrol and diesel from Motihari and after mixing the same with chemical, increase its volume and sell it in the remote places claiming it to be diesel or petrol," the SHO said....
