PATNA, Jan. 4 -- Six days after eight wagons of cement loaded freight train derailed near Telwa Bazar Halt in Bihar's Jamui district causing disruption to railway services on the Howrah-Patna-Delhi route more than 70 hours, the Railway Ministry transferred the DRM of Asansol Divisional Railway Manager, official said on Saturday. Though no casualties were reported, the derailment led to significant financial loss and disruption of train services. According to the Order issued by the Railway Board and signed by Ravinder Pandey, Director, Establishment/(Special) said, "Vinita Srivastava. NFHAG(Non-Functional Higher Administrative Grade)/IRSME(Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers), DRM/Asansol/Eastern Railway, should be transferred to WCR and posted in the cadre. Sudhir Kumar Sharma, NFHAG/IRSS(Indian Railway Stores Service)/Eastern Railway should be detailed to look after the duties of DRM/Asansol/Eastern Railway till posting of a regular incumbent." 1994 batch IRSME Vinita Srivastava, has assumed the charge of DRM of Asansol Division on August 8, 2025.
