Doon DM pulled up for protocol lapses
Dehradun, July 2 -- Uttarakhand secretary (protocol) Vinod Kumar Suman sought an explanation from Dehradun district magistrate (DM) Savin Bansal for allegedly "not showing due respect and courtesy" to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla during his visit to Mussoorie on June 12.
It is alleged that office of Lok Sabha speaker contacted Dehradun DM Savin Bansal seven times on June 10 and 11 on the landline and mobile number "to ascertain protocol and arrangements for speaker's visit but "every time it was informed that he was in a meeting". Suman in his letter on June 25 said, "In the letters received from Lok Sabha Secretariat, and Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, it has been mentioned that office of Lok Sabha speaker contacted you over telephone/mobile to obtain the information regarding the visit of speaker, Lok Sabha to Dehradun on June 12, but didn't get a proper reply.....the Speaker didn't receive due respect and courtesy as per his dignity and protocol standards were violated."...
