PATNA, Nov. 6 -- A day after an FIR was registered against Union minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, the senior JD(U) leader on Wednesday reacted strongly to allegations that he had made objectionable remarks during an election rally.
The controversy erupted just as Bihar heads to polls in the first phase of the Assembly elections on Thursday.
The FIR was lodged on the Election Commission's directions after a video surfaced purportedly showing Lalan Singh instructing his supporters to ensure that "some opposition leaders are not allowed to leave their homes on voting day."
Addressing the controversy in Patna, Lalan Singh said, "That is only one chunk of the video; it is not the complete video. People should watch the full recording. If an FIR has been registered, the entire video will be investigated. I will be questioned, and I will answer. Everything is recorded."
