Dehradun, Dec. 20 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday spoke with Union minister for environment, forest and climate change Bhupender Yadav to discuss the growing incidents of human-wildlife conflict in the state and sought additional resources and support from the Centre to deal with the challenge in a more effective and sustained manner According to officials, during the telephonic conversation, the CM informed the Union minister that the forest department and the district administration are taking effective steps to mitigate the problem. He said necessary instructions have already been issued to control aggressive wild animals and to ensure the safety of people living in wildlife-sensitive areas. Dhami emphasised the need for strengthening infrastructure, manpower and response mechanisms in the state to prevent loss of life and property. Officials said the Union minister assured Dhami of all possible assistance from the central government. He underlined the importance of scientific wildlife management, use of modern technology and establishment of a robust and rapid response system to handle conflict situations promptly and efficiently.
