decomposed bodies of 2 Pak nationals found in Jaisalmer
Barmer, June 30 -- Two bodies, including that of a 15-year-old girl, were found in a decomposed state in Jaisalmer, police said on Sunday, adding that the identity cards found in their possession revealed them to be of Pakistan citizens.
Sudhir Choudhary, superintendent of police (SP) in Jaisalmer, said that the two bodies were found approximately 11 kilometres from Pakistan in Gajasingh Ka Kuwa village.
"The bodies were first seen by a local villager on Saturday. Upon receiving information, police personnel and Border Security Force (BSF) troops reached the spot and recovered the bodies," he said.
"It is still under investigation whether they crossed the international border or were already present in India on visa," he said.
He further said that the identity cards stated that the man was born on January 3, 2008, and the girl was born on July 30, 2010. "Both cards were marked 'Country: Pakistan,' and contained Urdu text on the reverse side."
"Initial investigations suggest the bodies were around five to eight days old and had begun decomposing. A preliminary report suggests that they may have died due to dehydration, however a detailed post-mortem report will reveal the exact reason," the officer said, adding that a Samsung mobile phone with a memory card and SIM was also recovered next to the man's body.
The SP said that post mortem examination will be conducted at Ramgarh Hospital.
"Guidance will be sought from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the cremation of the bodies. Besides, an investigation is also underway to determine the reason for their presence in the sensitive border region," Choudhary added....
