PATNA, June 20 -- A 35-yr-old Dalit man, who along with seven women was detained on charges of attacking a police team, died in mysterious circumstances in police custody, police said on Thursday. The person died in the custody of Phulwaria police station of Gopalganj district. He was detained late on Tuesday and died on Wednesday night. The victim was identified as Anil Ram of Gazipur in Uttar Pradesh. He was alleged to have been involved in attack on police team. A case was lodged with Phulwaria police station against named and unidentified persons. It being a custodial death, a judicial enquiry has been called and a magistrate from Gopalganj initiated the process. Gopalganj SP Awadhesh Dixit said the man was ill and at the time of his detainment, he was found in drunken state. Anil's wife Nayantara Devi said plainclothes police team reached the house of one Ajay Yadav, where her husband worked, picked and thrashed him before taking him into custody....
