PURNIA, June 6 -- The cyber cell of Purnia police has uncovered a large-scale cyber fraud network involving an online gaming app, expected to run into crores of rupees, following the arrest of the alleged kingpin who confessed to his crime. Purnia Superintendent of Police (SP) Kartikeya K Sharma told media persons on Wednesday, "The raid and subsequent arrest of the kingpin, along with the seizure of mobile phones and a laptop, was based on a complaint filed against a gaming platform. The complainant reported that the outcomes of the games were manipulated." The SP further said, "The complaint also raised issues of arbitrary restrictions on withdrawals and the platform depositing free money into dormant accounts to lure users back.
