PATNA, Feb. 18 -- Amid tight security at the examination centres, the matriculation examination began in Bihar with around 1.512 million examinees appearing at the annual examination with five students getting expelled in various districts for using unfair means, officials said. On Tuesday, several students in various centers in Patna and other districts had to miss their examination in the first half for having arrived late at the venue with gates of the examination buildings getting closed at 9 am. Officials said that the Bihar school examination board ( BSEB) had already issued guidelines to the students to come well in advance to the centers so that they could enter the examination premises in the stipulated time before the commencement of examination. "Those students who have missed their examination for arriving late at the examination center would be getting a chance to appear for the subject in special examinations to be held later. The affected students would not miss a year as the results would come after the special examination for specific subjects," said Rajesh Dwivedi, spokesperson of the BSEB. Reports said that BSEB chairman Anand Kishore also visited several examination centres to evaluate the arrangements and also ensure that no unfair means were being used by students to take the examination. Meanwhile, cricketer Vaibhav Suryvanashi did not appear for taking his Class 10 CBSE board examination at a local school in Samastipur for apparently being busy with his cricket engagements. Authorities of the school, where Vaibhav was supposed to take examination for his CBSE board examination said that the cricketer had been marked as absent for not showing up at the examination centre on Tuesday, as per an agency report....
