CPI-ML MLA held in 20-yr-old case
PATNA, Oct. 15 -- Darauli MLA from CPI-ML, Satyadev Ram, was taken into custody by Siwan police immediately after filing his nomination at the Collectorate complex on Tuesday. The action followed a warrant issued by the Sonpur Railway Court in connection with a 2005 Rail Roko agitation case.
According to the police, the case is related to the Rail Roko movement conducted without permission at Daraunda Railway Station in 2005. In this connection, an FIR number 36/2005 was registered with the GRP Siwan while the ACJM of Sonpur Railway Court had issued a permanent warrant against the MLA in this case. On Tuesday, the Siwan's Town police detained the MLA Satyadev Ram from the Collectorate premises on the basis of a warrant pending against him.
After being detained, MLA Satyadev Ram told the media that he had no information about this matter....
