Cops fire in air to disperse mob protesting minor's death in accident
PATNA, April 10 -- Saran police had to fire in air to disperse a violent mob protesting the death of a minor in a road accident at Manoharur-Jakri village under Amnaur police station on Wednesday, a senior official said. A mob of around 100 people had gathered and started pelting stones at a police team when they tried to pacify them after the death of an eight-year-old Aditya Kumar. The mob blocked the national highway, disrupted vehicular traffic for more than two hours and burnt tyres on the middle of the road. "Two constables were injured in the stone-pelting and the police fired two rounds in air in self-defence," said Marhaura DSP Naresh Paswan, adding the situation was now under control and senior police officers had reached the spot....
