PATNA, Nov. 2 -- The Bihar Police claimed to have solved a blind murder case of an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) within 48 hours of the crime and arrested seven persons, including two women and two Nepali citizens, officials said. The body of ASI Aniruddh Kumar of Siwan police was recovered on October 30 from the Daraunda police station area. Following the incident, Gopalganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Manoj Tiwari formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the leadership of Maharajganj Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO). Based on technical evidence and human intelligence, the SIT worked closely with the Special Task Force (STF) and arrested the seven accused involved in the crime. Police said the investigation revealed that the ASI was frequently in touch with a woman dancer of a local troupe who was staying at Pintu Kumar's house in Sirsaw village. The woman's husband suspected her of being in contact with the ASI. This led to an argument between the ASI, the woman's husband Imran Ansari, and his associate Rahul Kumar during Diwali night. Those arrested were identified as Imran Ansari, Sameer Idrishi (both from Nepal), Rahul Kumar Yadav, Ranjan Kumar Srivastava, and Sandeep Singh (all from Siwan). The identities of the two women were not disclosed. All the accused allegedly conspired to kill ASI Aniruddh Kumar.
