KISHANGANJ, Oct. 20 -- The Congress has awarded a party ticket to the first AIMIM MLA of Bihar by dislodging its sitting MLA from Kishanganj Sadar assembly seat. The party has preferred AIMIM turncoat Qamrul Hoda to its sitting MLA Ijaharul Hussain. Resentment prevails among Congress workers following this. Qamrul Hoda won by poll in 2019 on Kishanganj seat on AIMIM ticket and with this the party opened its account in Bihar. He recently joined the Congress. This is believed to be an astute political move of the party to counter the aggressive politics of AIMIM which has launched a tirade against the INDIA bloc after its repeated requests for making the party a part of the alliance was spurned. "But this move of the Congress will backfire as this decision has sharply divided the party," a senior leader said ,adding, "The party will lose its most secure and winning seat in Bihar." Since 1952, the Congress has won this seat 11 times. "Winning a by election can't prove the worth of a candidate and I can tell the Congress has committed a blunder by giving priority to a turncoat over a trusted leader," a close aide of the sitting MLA told HT adding, "The party will lose the seat." Meanwhile, three AIMIM turncoats, two from Kishanganj, and one from Purnea, were left ticketless. Three MLAs one from Bahadurganj, the other from Kochadhaman in Kishanganj and one from Baisi who had defected to RJD in 2022 with the hope that the RJD would give them tickets have been left ticketless. RJD has preferred a JD(U) turncoat Mujahid Alam to sitting AIMIM turncoat RJD MLA Muhammad Izhar Asfi on Kochadhaman seat. Mujahid Alam joined RJD recently. Bahadurganj MLA Muhammad Anzar Nayeemi too was denied RJD ticket from Bahadurganj as the seat has gone to Congress party. In Baisi, RJD has reposed faith in Hazi Abdus Subhan who has been given priority over AIMIM turncoat Syed Rukunuddin. Four AIMIM MLA out of five had defected to RJD in 2022. Out of four MLAs, three have already been denied party tickets....
