PATNA, July 10 -- Chief minister Nitish Kumar took to social media X to announce that 35% horizontal reservation for women, who are permanent residents, would be valid in all categories of recruitments, including those on contract and outsourced staff. The CM said the reservation would apply to all levels and types of posts across government services, including contractual and outsourced roles. With 1,51,579 vacancies currently in the recruitment process, this policy ensures that Bihar's women will have significant representation in the state's workforce, marking a significant step toward gender equality, he wrote on X. Meanwhile, the state government has directed all departments to expedite the filling of these vacancies to provide immediate opportunities for eligible women candidates.
