Dehradun, July 22 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday set a target of achieving a Rs.100-crore turnover for Uttarakhand's flagship umbrella brand "House of Himalayas" by the year 2030, directing officials to ensure robust marketing of its products. Chairing a review meeting of the Rural Development Department's "Game Changer Schemes" at the Secretariat in Dehradun, CM Dhami instructed the development of one smart village in each development block, with a focus on equipping them with basic amenities and ensuring every household is linked to employment. Dhami emphasised the importance of promoting rural entrepreneurship and strengthening livelihood opportunities in villages and the need to support reverse migration and enhance the doorstep delivery system for better implementation. Highlighting the significance of the House of Himalayas initiative, the CM said, "A concrete and strategic marketing plan should be put in place to enhance the brand's reach, with a strong emphasis on product quality and branding. Local products must be developed with a business-oriented approach and linked with skill development to improve local incomes", he said. To boost women entrepreneurship in rural regions, Dhami directed authorities to ensure adequate training, financial support, and market access under the Centre of Excellence Scheme, and equipping women with relevant skills and resources.
