PATNA, May 9 -- In the wake escalating tension on the Indo-Pak borders post 'Operation Sindoor', Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday held a high-level meeting with senior officials to review the security on the long Indo-Nepal border. Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena apprised the CM of the steps taken to be on high alert in view of the evolving situation. "The leave of administrative, police and distaster management officials has been cancelled, while the health department and police are on maximum alert," he added. The CM directed the officials to maintain highest level of vigilance in all the bordering districts and keep tabs on movement and suspected individuals. "The security at all important installations in the bordering areas should be heightened and patrolling be intensified," he added. The CM said all the district magistrates and SPs should remain vigilant about security of important installations in their respective jurisdictions. "There should also be constant vigil on social media propaganda, misinformation and fake news and every effort should be made to stop them," he added.
