PURNEA, Sept. 22 -- Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Sunday slammed the Muslim-Yadav (M-Y) combination that is believed to be to be core support base of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), alleging that the identity-based grouping and its use as slogan has disintegrated the society and country. He said that for him M-Y means 'Mahila and Youth', pointing out their role in making Bihar and Bihari first in the development story of the state and its people. Paswan, who was addressing a well-attended rally as part of his ongoing Nav Sankalp Yatra at Rangbhoomi ground in Purnea district, made a veiled attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as well and said, "The leader (name not taken) who himself is uneducated never wants our children to get educated. Such leaders have fear that educated Biharis will start asking for their rights." Paswan highlighted the problems of migration, unemployment and discrimination against Biharis in other states. Stressing the need for the all-round progress of the 14 crore people of Bihar, Paswan said, "The moment you (pointing out youths) come with me, I promise I will make you and the state prosperous." Hailing the contribution of Bhola Paswan Shastri and his father Ram Vilas Paswan, he claimed, "Both the leaders were clean politicians and never was any charge of corruption levelled against them." The seventh meeting of undergoing Nav Sankalp Yatra in Purnea is believed to work as pressure tactic on BJP and JD(U) in the midst of seat-sharing talks in NDA, which are in progress and may be finalised by the end of September.
