Chief secy reviews 'security' amid ongoing India-Pakistan tension
PATNA, May 10 -- Chief secretary Amrit Lal Meena on Friday asked the district magistrates and the superintendents of police (SPs) of all the districts to stay highly vigilant in view of the escalation of tension between India and Pakistan. The instructions were given to the concerned officials during a virtual meeting.
Meena said that police personnel on international borders and those of interstate entry points have been told to stay alert about any suspicious activity and promptly foil any nefarious design to disturb law and order in the state.
"Officials have been told to beef up surveillance and security around important installations, places of mass gathering including those of religious spots. Those manning Interstate boundaries and international borders have been asked to scan movement of any suspicious elements and consignment from across the border. Some elements might try to seek advantage of the heightened tension on the border and create disturbances," said Meena.
Following the review meeting, security personnel have increased vigilance at malls, markets, railway stations, airport, residential areas, hotels and other crowded locations. Bomb disposal squads have also carried out anti-sabotage checks at several locations. Police checks at the borders have been ramped up, with every vehicle entering Bihar getting scanned.
