CBI raids seven places across Bihar over bogus GST claims
PATNA, June 22 -- The CBI on Saturday conducted searches at seven places including Patna, Purnea, Nalanda, Munger and Jamshedpur against the then Additional Commissioner (Customs) Patna and 29 others for bogus GST claims through fake export bills of nearly Rs.100 crore. The CBI recovered seven gold bar, each of 100 grams, incriminating documents and mobile phone from the raided premises.
CBI official familiar with the matter said that the agency registered an FIR against seven named persons - Ranvijay Kumar, the then Additional Customs Commissioner, Patna, Tarun Kumar Sinha, the then Custom Superintendent, LCS Bhimnagar, Rajeev Ranjan Sinha, the then Customs Superintendent, LCS Bhimnagar, Neeraj Kumar, the then Customs Superintendent, LCS Jaynagar (now Assistant Commissioner, Customs) Manmohan Sharma, the then Customs Superintendent, LCS Jaynagar (now Assistant Commissioner, Customs) and Ganga Singh, G-Card Holder/Private Person.
Official said that the custom officials entered into criminal conspiracy with the accused, G-Card Holder/Private Person and exporter firms and 23 importer firms....
