BETTIAH, Nov. 11 -- In an alleged crackdown on cash for votes, Bihar's East Champaran police arrested four people and recovered cash, alleged to be used to influence voters, and FIR against two candidates were registered for distributing cash, barely 24 hours ahead of second phase of polling in Motihari on Monday. SP Swarn Prabhat said acting on a tip off, a police team raided the house of one Hari Singh in Chhota Bariyarpur, Motihari and seized seized Rs.3.11 lakh cash and list of voters of some area with their mobile number, besides a party's sticker. "Prima facie, it appears to be an attempt to influence voters in gross violation of model code of conduct," the SP said. Those arrested have been identified as Hari Singh, Kalamuddin Ansari, Laxmi Prasad and Pramod Prasad . In a related development, cases were registered against BJP's Lalbabu Gupta and RJD's Rajendra Ram in fray for Chiraiya and Harsidhi seats respectively in East Champaran after video on social media showed a few people holding cash with Lalbabu Gupta around. In another, a man purported to be Rajendra Ram, former RJD MLA, is seen giving cash to a woman, police confirmed....
