Case filed against ASI for keeping with him record of pending cases
AURANGABAD, June 10 -- A criminal case was registered against an assistant police sub-inspector (ASI)here for allegedly illegally keeping with him the records of 66 criminal cases for three years.
The officer was absconding after he was suspended a few months back. Police were searching for the officer who had not handed over the records of the cases under investigation, SP Ambrish Rahul said.
The ASI Ramchandra Paswan was posted with Haspura police station from where he was transferred to Madanpur PS in 2022. He was investigating officer of the 66 cases and he had to hand over the charge of those cases to the SHO, Haspura, but he did not. He also did not hand over the charge of Malkhana (store room) of the PS, the SP said.
The SP had directed all police officers in the district to hand over the pending charges till June 1. But ASI Paswan was absent from the police station, police lines and was not reachable on his mobile phone.
Considering this as gross negligence and violation of order, a case was registered against him....
