Carcass of deer found in West Champaran
BETTIAH, May 7 -- Forest officials found the carcass of a deer which was suspected to have been killed allegedly by poachers in West Champaran district of Bihar, officials said on Monday evening.
Dr. Nesamani K, conservator and field director of Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) said the carcass was found Dumari Bhagrawa in ravine area which falls under Piparasi police station area of Bagaha.
"During the investigation, it has come to fore that the animal which had strayed from the forest of Valmiki Nagar was killed by unidentified people. We are looking into the matter," said conservator and field director of VTR.
On getting information, a team of the forest department reached the spot and claimed the custody of the carcass on Monday.
"After fulfilling all formal illegal procedures, the carcass was buried," a forest officer said.
Meanwhile, a thorough probe has been launched into it....
