Cabinet okays plan for setting up six more airports in Bihar
PATNA, June 18 -- The state government has decided to build airports at six more towns for smaller aircrafts under UDAN-RCS (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagarik-Regional Connectivity Scheme) of the Central government. An initial amount of Rs.25-crore has been allocated for each aerodrome.
This is among the 20 proposals, which were discussed and approved at the cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday.
Briefing newspersons after the meeting, additional chief secretary (cabinet), S Siddharth, said that the cabinet has approved the cabinet secretariat department's proposal for signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for development of aerodromes at Madhubani, Birpur, Munger, Valmiki Nagar, Muzaffarpur and Saharsa.
These towns already have land earmarked for airfields for operation of smaller aircrafts. However, the state government may acquire more land if it is required for development of infrastructure.
In another important development, the cabinet gave its nod for offering the letter of award (LoW) to Kumar Infratrade Enterprises Pvt Ltd for building a five-star hotel in the premises of erstwhile Hotel Patliputra Ashok near IT roundabout on a 60-year lease, which is extendable for 30 more years. The hotel is being built in the public private partnership (PPP) mode. Siddharth said that the Kumar Infratrade Enterprises has emerged as the successful bidder in the tendering process conducted by the tourism department. The process to select the most suitable firms for building five-star hotels at two other places - Bankipore bus depot near Gandhi Maidan and Sultan Palace on Bir Chand Patel Path - is going on.
The state government has approved the food and consumer protection department's proposal to authorise primary agricultural credit societies (Pacs) and Vyapar Mandals to procure pulses and oilseed (mustard) on behalf of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (Nafed) and National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India Limited (NCCF) on the minimum support price (MSP). Siddharth said that the Nafed and NCCF would procure gram, red lentils and mustard under revised price support scheme at the MSP of Rs.5,650, Rs.6,700 and Rs.5,950 per quintal respectively.
Telecom operators would not require making rounds of the civic bodies for approval of installation of 5G towers in highrises.
The cabinet has okayed the urban development department's proposal for amending a relevant section of the Bihar building bylaws under which mobile service providers can install 5G towers in the building as part of the in-building solutions....
