Patna, April 10 -- The Election Commission on Thursday announced by-election for one seat to the state legislative council , which would be held on 12 May, as per a press note by the central poll panel. The by-election to the seat from Bhojpur cum Buxar local authorities constituency in state Council has been necessitated due to the vacancy created by previous incumbent Radha Charan Seth, who was elected to the state assembly in the 2025 assembly polls. Seth was elected as a JD(U) MLA from Sandesh assembly constituency. As per EC press note, the notification of the bypoll would be issued on April 16, while last date of nominations is April 23 and last date of withdrawal of candidatures is on April 27. Counting of votes will be on 14 May....
