BSAP jawan with hands and feet chained found lying on rly track in Bihar
MUNGER, July 16 -- A jawan of the Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP) was found lying on a railway track with his hands and feet tied in Munger district, police said on Monday.
The jawan, identified as Santosh Kumar, a resident of Jehanabad, is posted with BSAP-9 at Jamalpur. He was allegedly overpowered by armed men, chained, and thrown onto the tracks near the Munger-Bhagalpur Railway Bridge on Sunday evening. The matter came to light the next day after an FIR was lodged.
In his complaint, Santosh alleged that six unidentified assailants, armed with a pistol, abducted him and dumped him on the tracks. "Luckily, some passersby heard my cries and alerted the Dial 112 team. I was rescued in time," he told the police.
He was taken to Jamalpur police station and later sent to the BSAP-9 campus, where the chains were removed in the presence of officials. He accused some policemen of being behind the incident, claiming they tried to kill him for not cooperating with their illegal activities.
Munger Superintendent of Police (SP) Imran Masood confirmed that an FIR has been lodged against 18 persons, including 12 policemen. A probe team led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Abhishek Anand has been formed to investigate the case....
