Boy hacked to death for witnessing maize theft in Madhepura
PATNA, May 24 -- A 14-year-old boy, who had witnessed maize theft from his family's agricultural field, was allegedly hacked to death in the Nayanagar locality of Madhepura district, police said on Friday.
Four accused, including two juveniles, have been arrested and sent to judicial custody and the Singheshwar remand home.
Confirming the incident, Udakishunganj SDPO Avinash Kumar said that the boy, identified as Nilesh Kumar, was found beheaded on Thursday. Following the discovery, the victim's father, Sudhir Mahto, lodged an FIR against four suspects at the Udakishunganj police station.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team detained four individuals-Kundan Kumar, Gajendra Mukhiya, and two juveniles-for questioning.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and revealed that they had stolen maize from Sudhir Mahto's field about 15 days ago. Nilesh had witnessed the act.
The accused had pleaded with Nilesh not to disclose the incident, but he reportedly informed his father about it. The next day, Sudhir confronted the parents of the accused and reprimanded them. Meanwhile, a through probe has been launched into the incident....
