PATNA, July 16 -- The body of Abhishek Varun, branch manager of ICICI Lombard in Patna, who had been missing since Sunday night, was recovered on Tuesday morning from a dry well in the Beur area under mysterious circumstances, police said. His scooter and a slipper were also found in the same well. The incident has raised several questions, and the family of the deceased is seeking answers. A resident of Kankarbagh, Varun had attended a family party in the Ramkrishna Nagar area on Sunday night with his wife and children. After the event, he sent his family home around 10 pm, saying he would join them later. According to his brother, Abhishek called his wife around 1 am and informed her that he had met with an accident. His phone was switched off shortly afterward, which alarmed the family. When he didn't return by Monday morning, they began searching for him. Unable to locate him, his wife lodged a missing person complaint at the Kankarbagh police station. Police traced his last mobile location to the Beur area, a desolate stretch nearly 4 km from where he was last seen, prompting them to consider multiple angles-accident, suicide, or foul play. Phulwari Sharif SDPO-1 Sushil Kumar said, "The investigation is ongoing. Varun had gone to Ganpati Utsav Hall on Sunday night. He left around 10 pm and remained in contact with his family till about 3 am. His body was found in a farmland well in Hasanpura. Prima facie, it appears to be an accident. In his last call, he mentioned that his two-wheeler had fallen on him and he was surrounded by walls." Police are examining the case from all possible angles....
