BETTIAH, Oct. 13 -- The bodies of a young man and a 21-year-old married woman were found on a railway track near Kuwarpur halt in Bihar's East Champaran district, officials said.
The gruesome discovery came to light on Sunday morning when locals spotted the decapitated bodies lying on the track near Kuwarpur railway halt, close to Pipra station, and informed the police.
"We are investigating the matter from all possible angles," said Bharat Prasad, Inspector, RPF Motihari, which has jurisdiction over Kuwarpur halt.
While the woman's identity (name withheld) has been confirmed, the identity of the young man is yet to be ascertained.
A police officer, referring to circumstantial evidence, said, "Prima facie, it appears to be a suicide case. During the investigation, it emerged that the woman had escaped from her native village in Kalyanpur block three days ago. Their heads and torsos were lying on the track. The boy's slippers were recovered near his body, while the bag and slippers of the woman were found on the platform."
The bodies remained at the spot till 5 pm, despite the arrival of Railway Police and Pipra police. "We are waiting for forensic experts to collect evidence," said a police officer....
