Bodies of girl, her boyfriend found on rly track in Patna
PATNA, Sept. 13 -- The bodies of a girl and her boyfriend, both from the same community and adjoining villages in Patna district, were found on railway tracks near Pothahi station on the Patna-Gaya section on Friday morning under mysterious circumstances, police said.
Police suspect it to be a case of hate killing and have sent the bodies for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.
The victims, aged 16 and 19, were residents of the Dhanarua police station area and had known each other since childhood. Police said their families were opposed to the relationship, and even community members had objected. The girl's family had begun searching for a suitable match for her, but the two insisted on getting married. Subsequently, she left home and eloped with Subodh Kumar (19). The girl's grandmother had filed an FIR against Subodh on September 7, alleging abduction. In her complaint, she claimed: "On the evening of September 2, around 7:30pm, when I along with my granddaughter went near a primary school, three people, including Subodh, arrived on a bike, abused and threatened us."...
