PATNA, Oct. 20 -- Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal on Sunday took a dig at the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) over its internal tussles in seat-sharing for the upcoming assembly elections, comparing the Grand Alliance to the "Kaurav sena" of the Mahabharat, while likening the NDA to the united "Pandavas." Addressing a press conference in Patna, Jaiswal said that all five constituents of the NDA - the BJP, JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), RLM, and HAM(S) - had amicably finalised seat distribution and entered the poll arena as one cohesive team. In contrast, he said, the Mahagathbandhan was embroiled in infighting. "The RJD has even fielded a candidate against Congress state president Rajesh Kumar, prompting him to protest that disrespect to Dalits will not be tolerated," Jaiswal said, adding that allegations of "wheeling-dealing and money power" in ticket distribution were tarnishing the Mahagathbandhan's image. The Congress, CPI and the RJD have put up their nominees against each other in at least 15 constituencies. The RJD went a step further by fielding its candidate Suresh Paswan, a former minister, against the Bihar Congress president Rajesh Kumar, an MLA from Kutumba in Aurangabad district. "If this is the situation before elections, how do they expect to run a government?" he asked newspersons, asserting that voters had already made up their minds to re-elect an NDA government. Jaiswal said the NDA was committed to "development, women's empowerment, job creation, and welfare of the poor and farmers," and claimed that people of Bihar trusted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guarantees and chief minister Nitish Kumar's development model. National spokesperson Guru Prakash, state media in-charge Danish Iqbal, co-media in-charge Amit Prakash Bablu and Suraj Pandey were also present at the press conference....
