Bihar to become vital getaway for tourists by 2027: Minister
BETTIAH, May 8 -- In a bid to boost eco-tourism in Bihar, four motor-boat services were inaugurated on the Gandak river at Valmikinagar on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Bihar's minister of environment, forest, and climate change, Dr Sunil Kumar, said that the state government is committed to promoting tourism and transforming Bihar into a vibrant tourist getaway by 2027.
"Blessed with several exhilarating sightseeing spots, the state is doing everything possible to harness its tourism potential," the minister further said.
On the second day of his two-day visit to the picturesque Valmikinagar, nestled in the lap of nature in West Champaran, Dr. Kumar appeared deeply impressed by the region's mystic charm.
"No praise is too high for the beauty of this place," he remarked.
Highlighting other tourist destinations in the state, the minister said, "Apart from Valmikinagar, there are several scenic locations in Rajgir, Kaimur, and Rohtas that have immense potential to attract tourists from across the country."
He added that the state government is planning to develop Gupteshwar Dham in Rohtas district into a major tourist attraction. The revered Shiva temple, also known as Gupta Dham, is nestled in the hills and is renowned for its unique cave structure and spiritual significance.
"Gupteshwar Dham will be integrated into the Shiv Circuit, with promotional activities starting from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh," he said.
He stressed the strides Bihar has made in tourism under the leadership of chief minister Nitish Kumar.
"Our government is committed to placing Bihar on the global tourism map through the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali initiative by 2027," he added....
