Bihar police nab cyber criminals from Raj for faking as IPS officer, duping ppl
BETTIAH, July 7 -- Bihar's East Champaran police in coordination with Rajasthan police arrested two cyber criminals from Rajasthan's Alwar for creating Indian Police Service (IPS) officers' fake account and entice people in their trap offering to sell their furniture and belongings following transfer, police said Sunday.
The matter came to fore after a fake account of "Swarn Prabhat Ips" was found to be in existence, prompting police to register a case with cyber police station in Motihari recently.
Abhinav Parashar, DSP, cyber police on Sunday said the two cyber criminals, identified as Avinabh Maisi and Arif Khan, residents of Alwar in Rajasthan, were arrested from their native place in coordination with local police.
"They have confessed to committing crime using the fake Facebook account of talked-about IPS officers," he said.
DSP Parashar said the cyber criminals would ensnare the customers into their trap and fleece them by offering to sell the furniture and other household articles of most talked-about IPS officers in the wake of, what they claimed, transfer from one place to other.
Other cyber criminals were being identified, said East Champaran police in an official statement, issued on Sunday....
