PATNA, July 1 -- Bihar government on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the development of six airports in the presence of chief secretary Amritlal Meena in New Delhi. The five airports owned by the Bihar government - Birpur, Valmikinagar, Saharsa, Madhubani and Munger, and Muzaffarpur airport owned by AAI have been identified under the Centre's 'UDAN' scheme. The ministry of civil aviation has approved Rs. 25 crore for each airport. A pre-feasibility study was conducted by the state government for all these six airports. After this, this MoU was signed after getting the approval of Bihar cabinet recently.
