PATNA, July 29 -- A minor Dalit girl was allegedly abducted, raped and thrown by the roadside in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district on Sunday evening, police said.
The minor was rescued by locals and handed over to Sitamarhi police. The girl was recovering in hospital and a report of the medical test to confirm sexual assault was awaited. Two suspects, Mintu Sharma and Ganesh Kumar Shah had been detained for interrogation, police said on Monday.
The girl was found in a semi-conscious state at Pupri locality of Sitamarhi, close to Muzaffarpur district border and had head injuries and bleeding from her private part, local residents said. The alleged assault reportedly took place when the girl went to a mobile repairing shop of Mintu Sharma. "The girl was lying by the roadside. She was not able to talk properly, but could just tell that someone from her village had thrown her there," said a local resident, adding she was first rushed to Sitamarhi sadar hospital where a doctor referred her to SKMCH in critical condition. Victim's father said on July 26 around 11am her daughter left home (Aurai police station area) for mobile phone repair but did not return till late night.
"On Sunday noon, I received a call from Sitamarhi hospital saying that my daughter was admitted in an unconscious state. She visited Mintu's shop for mobile repairing where the shopkeeper might have outraged her modesty. Later she was taken in a car owned by Ganesh and thrown on National Highway 527-C. She received ten stitches on the head and has now regained consciousness," her father said....
