BUXAR, Nov. 13 -- A 30-year-old woman and her three children, aged between one and three years, allegedly died by suicide in Buxar district on Wednesday after a dispute with her husband over buying smartphones, police said. The incident took place at Purab Tola village under the jurisdiction of Naya Bhojpur police station. According to police, the woman had been demanding two smartphones from her husband - one for herself and another for her father - for the past week. Her husband, a mason by profession, told her that he could afford to buy only one phone, which led to an argument between the two. On Tuesday night, around 9 pm, the woman reportedly asked her husband for sulphas (a pesticide) meant for protecting grains. While her husband was watching television on the first floor, she allegedly mixed the pesticide in water and consumed it along with her three children on the ground floor. A female family member discovered them lying unconscious and raised an alarm. The husband rushed downstairs, and all four were taken to the sub-divisional hospital in Dumraon. They were later referred to the Buxar Sadar Hospital, where three of them died during treatment. The one-year-old boy, who was referred to PMCH, Patna, for better treatment, died on the way. Police said the deceased woman was the third wife of the man, whose earlier two wives had also died. Naya Bhojpur SHO Chandan Kumar confirmed the incident....
